Baba's Restro-Bar & Lounge

4.5· 224 Google reviews

Lighthouse 50s to being the answer AI gives for "best Indian food in Langley."

A Langley Punjabi restaurant with real Ludhiana roots and a strong reputation — but a website that couldn't carry it into search or AI answers. Valinx rebuilt it from the ground up so that when a hungry person nearby, or the AI they're asking, goes looking for Indian food, Baba's is the name that comes back. Tagline they live: "Ludhiana flavors, Langley vibes."

"Had an amazing experience at Baba Chicken Langley! The food was full of flavor and tasted very authentic. Their Kali mirch chicken was rich, creamy, and perfectly cooked, and the naan was fresh and soft. The atmosphere was clean and welcoming, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Service was quick, and the portion sizes were great for the price. If you’re craving delicious Punjabi/Indian food in Langley, this place is definitely worth trying. Highly recommended!"

The situation

Baba's already had the food and the reputation — hundreds of Google reviews at 4.5 stars. What they didn't have was a website that could carry that reputation into search and AI answers. The old site was a legacy CDN-served build with no real SEO and Lighthouse scores in the 50s. Great restaurant, invisible online.

The website

A genuinely fast rebuild on Firebase — Lighthouse 99 / 100 / 100 / 100, up from the low 50s. But speed is table stakes. The work that mattered was being findable and citable: a Restaurant entity graph with verified hours, phone, geo-coordinates, aggregateRating, and areaServed naming five cities, plus WebSite, FAQPage, Blog and Speakable schema.

An llms.txt and bot-invite rules tell ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google's AI Overviews to read and cite the site. Clean sitemap, canonical URLs, and a real /blog listing so every article is reachable.

The 101-dish Menu schema

Every dish on the menu — all 101 — is marked up with CAD prices and vegetarian diet flags in structured data. So when someone asks an AI "how much is butter chicken at Baba's?" or "do they have vegetarian options?", the answer comes straight from the markup. Most restaurants don't have this; it's what turns a menu into something machines can quote.

The content library

Nine genuinely useful, cited articles — not filler. "What is butter chicken? The origin story," "Is Indian food healthy? what the science says," "How spicy is Punjabi food?", seasonal pieces, and a local "after dinner in Langley" guide. Each is built to rank and to get cited by AI, with FAQPage and Speakable schema, real citations, and internal links. This is the topical authority that lifts the whole domain, not just the homepage.

Sheena — the AI concierge

A conversational assistant on the site that answers menu, hours, location and booking questions around the clock, and quietly captures leads. Paired with a Spice Guide lead magnet and a booking flow, so curiosity turns into a captured contact instead of a closed tab.

The plumbing nobody sees

Invisible reCAPTCHA Enterprise bot protection that never blocks a real customer, a locked-down API, zero secrets in the repo, and a mechanically enforced deploy gate so a broken build can't reach the live site.
