The problem

A slow React single-page app and content that wasn't being found. Amanda's practice was real — her credentials genuine, her clients loyal — but a prospective client searching "Reiki Sooke" or asking an AI assistant about energy healing in Victoria got nothing back. The site was invisible to the systems that route discovery in 2026.

The migration

Full Astro static build, zero-downtime migration from the old SPA with a one-command rollback held in reserve. Mobile Lighthouse: Performance 97, Accessibility 100, Best Practices 100, SEO 100. LCP pulled down by deferring ~800KB of third-party JS off the critical path, fixing a hydration mismatch, and inlining CSS.

A rich JSON-LD graph on every page: LocalBusiness, HealthAndBeautyBusiness, Person/E-E-A-T, FAQPage, Event, 6 real Google reviews, hours, service-area, hasOfferCatalog. An llms.txt and bot-invite rules that tell ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google's AI to read and cite the site. Static HTML on first byte — proven by fetching as GPTBot.

The content

Research-cited, PMID-verified articles — every claim sourced, nothing invented. Three are live and indexed in an Insights hub (Grief, Anxiety, Children). Four more are written and waiting on Amanda's review before indexing. Each opens with a direct, quotable answer — the kind AI engines pull and cite.

This is the content that compounds. Each article is a permanent, crawlable, citable piece of topical authority for "Reiki in Victoria" — no ad spend required.

The lead flow

A "Request a Booking" flow tuned to how Amanda actually works: every field optional except one way to reach her, party-size selector, clear "she'll personally call you back" framing — no fake auto-booking. Both a form path and a conversational AI chat path deliver leads, verified end-to-end against the live destination inbox.

Invisible reCAPTCHA Enterprise (fail-open on leads, never blocks a real client). Locked-down same-origin API. CSP/HSTS headers. Email-injection hardening. Secrets in Secret Manager. The security is there — Amanda's clients never see it.
